About Us
The RVT Story
Robinson Vacuum Tanks Inc. (RVT) is a family-owned and managed manufacturing business in central Pennsylvania serving the needs of clients across the country with quality-machined durable aluminum vacuum tank products, installation services, parts, and accessories. The CEO is Zach Robbins. The COO is Mandy Robbins.
Septic Startup
RVT is a child of Robinson Septic Service/Robinson Portable Toilets (RSS), a long-time septic service supplier managed by Wade and Sherry Robbins. During the first decade of this century, RSS began manufacturing aluminum tanks in-house to meet their internal needs for more reliable and usable equipment. They introduced their tanks to the wider public at the Pumper Show (now WWETT) in 2006. After encouraging preliminary success, the RVT corporation was formed in 2011 to focus on scaling aluminum tank production.
Facility Changes
The original RVT manufacturing facility was a 10,000 ft2 shop along the Benner Pike near State College, Pennsylvania. This same building housed all the trucks for the RSS septic service, so manufacturing space was limited.
In 2012, the family companies were relocated to the former Haven Homes manufacturing plant in Wingate, PA. The new property offered a 70,000 ft2 primary production facility with six additional outbuildings, two of which have been expanded since the move, with over 120,000 ft2 now under roof. In the span of five years, manufacturing output and revenue have increased by an order of magnitude, and RVT staff has grown from a handful to more than 30 full- and part-time employees.
Current Capabilities
RVT maintains a vehicle manufacturing license and works hand-in-hand with RVT Sales Inc. which functions as a dealer to enable production of work-ready portable restroom trucks (PRTs) and septic trucks. The cab & chassis can be provided by RVT or the customer. RVT also produces several models of slide-in aluminum tanks for the smaller trucks favored by smaller and start-up septic service providers. The complete product line of tanks and slide-ins can accommodate needs for single and bi-compartmental tanks with capacities ranging from 300 to 5,500 gallons.
The company maintains an inventory of its more popular products on trucks by Ford, Dodge, Peterbilt, Kenworth, International, and more.
